A.L. Mantovani & Sons Ltd was established in 1856 and has always remained a family-run business. It is one of the oldest companies still in operation on the island.

Our company was initially established as a Ship Agency. Today our Ship and Port Agency activities take place under the name of Mantovani Navigation Ltd.

At first we expanded to Travel & Tourism as an extension of our services to shipping companies we represented.In the 1930s we began organising Shore Excursions for passengers on visiting cruise ships.Still active as Shore Excursion Agents, we also expanded into providing tailor-made programmes and local arrangements for all types of Incoming Group Travel (Leisure and Corporate Groups).

At A.L. Mantovani & Sons Ltd we proud to remainthe American Express Travel representative office on the island since the 1930s.

The Travel Agency department was initially set up to handle sea passage bookings to Italy on represented passenger liners. This was before the arrival of air travel to the island. With the arrival of commercial airlines, the company developed its travel agency operations and is one of the first IATA accredited agencies on the island.
